Beijing and Shanghai Adventure

Do you want to visit China's two most exciting cities? Beijing, host of the 2008 Summer Olympics, and Shanghai, sometimes called the "Paris of the East" and the heart of China's opening and reform. These two cities are yours for less than the price of airfare alone, making this one travel opportunity you really can't afford to miss!

Day 1 Canada/USA


Our exotic journey to China begins today as you check in for your airplane wide-body jet flight bound for Beijing, China.


Day 2 Beijing


Evening arrival will be in Beijing, China's political historical and cultural capital. You'll be met by your guide and then escorted to your hotel in the center of Beijing, within short distance of the Beijing Airport. You’ll be staying at the Hotel in Beijing.


Day 3 Beijing

You will start your exploration in Beijing at the Great Wall. Later, the journey will take you to the Sacred Way and the Imperial Ming Tombs in the peaceful shadow of Longevity Mountain. You will then go to the Temple of Heaven, the place where the Emperors prayed to Heaven for good harvests. Stay in the Hotel in Beijing.


Day 4 Beijing

Today, you will go to Tian'anmen Square , the largest city-square in the world.


From there, you will enter the "Imperial Palace" known as the Forbidden City, to explore its many fascinating halls and pavilions. The Summer Palace is a well preserved royal garden, where you can realize your midsummer dreams.


A live Peking Opera performance will be followed by a Roast Duck Banquet, a local speciality. Stay in the hotel in Beijing.

Day 5 Beijing

Today you are going to visit the "birds nest" the main Olympic site and the location of the opening/closed ceremony and the so called “blue Box” or “Cubic” which was the main site of the aquatic events.  Visiting these sites is truly awe inspiring.  Followed by a visit at the Great Wall which was constructed during the Warring States Period on 7th century B.C, it had a history of more than 2,500 years or a stop at Hongqiao Market (Pearl Market) where is a Beijing shopping favourite, not because it is relaxed but because it has just about anything you could possibly want.  


Day 6 Beijing


You will have free time in the morning and will be dropped off at the airport in the afternoon. You will fly to Shanghai and arrive in Shanghai in one and a half hours.


Day 7 Beijing > Shanghai

Upon arrival in Shanghai International Airport, you will be greeted by our local tour guide and transferred to a restaurant for dinner. After dinner, you will be taken to the famous Shanghai “Bund”, on the waterfront, to experience the amazing night view there. Stay in the Hotel in Shanghai.


Day 8 Shanghai

Today, we will take you to experience the traditional part of Shanghai. You will visit the City- God Temple Bazaar, the major Taoist temple in Shanghai, and the Jade Buddha Temple, the most famous temple in Shanghai.


In the afternoon, you will visit the old town of Shanghai---Qibao Old town.
A walking tour on the pedestrian Nanjing Road, a famous shopping mecca in Shanghai, will be scheduled next. During dinner, you will enjoy a traditional Chinese Dai National Show. After dinner, there will be a performance by an acrobatic troupe.

We will call it a day after looking around the Hutong (traditional Chinese neighbourhood) in Xintandi. Stay in the Hotel in Shanghai.


Day 9 Shanghai


Today's agenda focuses on modern Shanghai, also called “Pudong”. First, we will go to Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone. You will have a bird's eye view of the city from the top of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. A visit to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center will tell you how the city has become an oriental miracle. In the afternoon, you will take a cruise along the Huangpu River, the mother river of Shanghai. Stay in the Hotel in Shanghai.

Day 10 Shanghai > Canada/ USA


Today we haven't scheduled anything so you have the whole morning off and you may do anything you want, from staying at the hotel or going to any kind of tourist attraction that you may have missed. You will be transferred to the airport after lunch to return to Canada/USA.
